Keeping Communities Connected Technical Mentorship Program In-Person

This program encourages youth and young adults to be empowered, educate, and be engaged in their communities. Mentees can expect to learn:

  1. How the Internet and “The Cloud” really works
  2. Different computer operating systems and the commands that make them work
  3. Various programming languages–-like Python and JavaScript
  4. How to build apps and push them to the AWS Cloud
  5. How data is used, stored and secured in the Cloud
  6. Building fun projects in a group setting.  Example projects include:
    1. Build a web server from scratch
    2. Build and store apps in reusable “containers”
    3. Design business website styles and user interface
    4. Learn how to push and manage small apps in the AWS cloud

Keeping Communities Connected (KCC) provides services for high school students at Lehman, Hays and Johnson. Interested participants can submit their information here the KCC Mentee page.
